“Tomorrow comes a giant task that our team shall face the Scarlet Knights of Andover are in the title race Our generals will be outnumbered nearly two to one but only 1 1 football players are on the field at once No one expects us to win except the strong at heart the true fans of Hamilton-Wenham who’ll be there from the start We shall try our hardest to achieve a victory for our loyal followers to talk about in glee But most of all we will win the game for our brave bold team who deserve to win this conflict for their self esteem The odds are all against us our backs against the wall But we’ll perform the magic to make North Andover fall” Rusty Hamilton

Homecoming After many weeks of float construction the activities for Homecoming were finally underway. Spirited stu- dents garbed themselves with farmer jeans, funky hats, bobby socks and T-shirts to exemplify their school spirit. Spirited students and teachers paraded through the corridors as country hicks and slobs. The final day of Spirit Week ended with the gymnasium filled with masses of blue and white. “We’ve got spirit yes we do, we’ve got spirit how ’bout you?” was the cry of rowdy students as the bleachers trembled be- neath their stomping feet. The Senior class proved to have the most spirit, or at least the loudest voices winning the cheering contest. Will the spirit con- tinue?

Still More . . . Alumni, parents, and students quickly filled the foot- ball bleachers. The Generals impressed the fans with strategy and spirit but were unable to win over the North Andover Knights. The marching band dis- played their creative talents at half time. At last the moment arrived when the Homecoming Queen of I 1977 was to be crowned and the Senior class finally caught the victory winds for the float competition.
