Time's getting short. Only nine short months to go, and we will have completed our twelve years of school. Our graduating class began the year with 59 students. First off, the senior class chose their class officers: Bob Newberry was elected to the important job of president, John Snyder, vice-presidentg Dave Hoon, secretaryg and Les Essig, treasurer. Martin McDow was selected as editor of the annual and his assistant editor was Phil Ables. Other annual staff members were: Pat Agnew, Mickey George, Bill McPherson, Ronnie Craven, Bob Newberry, Esther Derby, and Carolyn For- shey. It didn't take the boys long to start football practice. Our class had l'7 boys on the team. The two co- captains, Bob Newberry and Les Essig, did a wonderful job all season. We were very proud to have two members, Dave Hoon, and Les Essig, make the Franklin County All-County football team. Les was also on the All-Ohio football team. On what seemed the coldest night in the year, we had our Football Homecoming. Esther Derby was crowned Queen and her Maid of Honor was Pat Agnew. Senior attendants were Almeda Adams and Carol Roof. Next on the agenda was basketball. Three senior boys made varsity. Charlie Bakenhaster, Dave Hoon and Les Essig. Les made All-County basketball. The team won the runner-up trophy at the tournament, January 24 was picked for our Basketball Homecoming. Queen Carolyn Forshey reigned over the game and dance. On her court were: Maid of Honor, Oleta Adams, and attendant, Betty Caldwell, Mistress of Cere- monies, Pat Agnew. King for a Day. That was Martin McDow's title February 14. The entire student body elected Mar- tin as their king for Valentines Day 1958. He picked as his queen, Mickey George. The royal couple reigned over a wonderful dance held in their honor. An exciting day for two of our seniors was Citizenship day at the Franklin County Court House, where John Snyder served as Judge, and Joe Chandler as Purchasing Agent. Another wonderful honor John earned was placing twenty-second in the state in the Franklin County Scholarship Test and placing second in the county. Much of our time was spent participating in the various clubs. Senior officers were: G, A. A. president, Marion Graham, Almeda Adams, treasurer. Tri-Hi-Y president, Carolyn Forsheyg vice-president, Oleta Adamsg secretary, Carol Roof: treasurer, Esther Derby: and chaplain, Sandie Rhoades. Hi-Y- Ronnie Craven president: Bill McPherson, vice-president: Martin McDow, secretary: Wayne McCann, treasurer: Future Teachers -Mickey George, presidentg Dick Edwards, vice-presidentg Joe Chandler, treasurer. Varsity H- Dave Hoon, presidentg Bob Newberry, vice-presidentg Band president, Bill McPhersong President of Glee Club, Esther Derbyg and secretary Sandy Rhoades. We sponsored several dances this year, one of them being a Christmas dance to get cash donations and small articles for the Columbus State Hospital. And then the time finally arrived. We've been planning this day for twelve years, and now it was finally here - Graduation. We sat and listened to our Valedictorian, John Snyder, and Salutatorian, Tim Gibbs, give their speeches. It was then that we really realized what was ahead of us. Never will we forget these twelve years. We're still dreaming but someday our dreams will come true if we all follow our class motto: Success fully, Faithfully, Bravely.
