This year,s theme for the prom was Stairway to Heavenf, Seating began at 7:30 p.m. with the sophomore class officers serving as ush- ers. The dinner was served buffet style and included roast beef, fried chicken and Seafood Newburg. A five-man band, Fox,,' provided the music for the evening. Between dances, couples enjoyed tak- ing boat rides and walking on the bal- cony overlooking the water. A bright moon and plenty of stars added to the romantic atmosphere. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the queen and king. After being announced by junior class offi- cers George Zeller and Kim Marks, Se- niors Nancy Anderson and Brian Marks took to the floor for their solo dance. After the prom, people scattered to play miniature golf, go bowling, or eat breakfast at Wayne-F all Lions Club. The next day, many couples attended the first day of qualifications at the 500 Speedway and others went to Turkey Run State Park. 58 5: - E isfii .......1 Undecided on the selection of a meal, Kim Smith consults Nick Cheronis on his choice. Enjoying the view from the balcony, Diane Cam- pfield and Dwayne Bourke take a break from the festivities. King of the prom, Brian Marks, stoops so Kim Marks can place the crown on his head.
