Varsity cheerleader Robin Stevenson demon- strates getting ready for a sectional game with the aid of invisible Pam Woods. xiii 1 Even though sectionals didn't turn out a roaring success for HSHS, spirit week seemed to go over quite well with the students. Starting on Monday, students dressed up as hobo's with dirty faces and old top hats. On twin day, the halls of HSHS were filled with look-alike babies and farmers, along with a variety of others. On Tuesday evening, the annual pep rally was held and the Boy's'Booster Club did a Uspecialv good luck cheer and built a stunning pyramid while spelling out the cheer EXLAX to pro- mote team spirit. High school and jr. High Royalettes performed dance rou- tines, and the cheerleaders led cheers to lead the Royals on to a victory against Sheridan on the coming Friday. If someone wouldnit have known better, they would have thought it was the 1950,s at HSHS as boys dressed up in black leather jackets, white T shirts, with their hair greased back and sun glasses. Some of these shady characters were even considering having a Hrumblei' after school. Girls with white bobby socks and saddle shoes, pony tails and red lipstick strolled the halls with the cool guys. Let's make a deal day, a new spirit day wasn't as successful as the other days, but a few creative people dressed up. One happy clown, Senior Sandra Jones had this to say about a Royal vic- tory, We are the Royals and weire victory bound, and we're gonna show the Blackhawks that we donit clown aroundli' Color day, probably the most successful of the spirit days, really showed school spirit. The Girls, Booster Club wore their sectional outfits and the lettermen wore their sweaters to school. Other students simply wore the famous RED WHITE and BLUE. A pep session was held while visitors from the TV show Laugh In dropped in. Valerie Mallery as Ruth Anni' said this about a Royal victory, no-one can lick the Royal team, and that's the truthf, Brent Fulton portrayed the dirty old man, and Shirley Beaver portrayed the modest old lady, as she smacked him on the head with her purse because he was getting fresh with her, saying no-one should mess-around with the Royal team. junior supporters Ronnie Hoskins, Brent Fulton, Kip Gable, Mike Stewart, Fred Barg and Nick Cheronis dribbled basketballs from HSHS to Carmel High School to show their enthusiasm. The boys arrived just in time to watch the Royal team put up a strong fight against the Sheridan Blackhawks only to be defeated by a seven point margin. During the game, spirit was high and everyone was proud to be a Royal backer.

.f- The gypsy, Beth Blackburn, reads Coach Shuma- ker's palm, predicting a Royal victory in sectionals. Senior Sandra jones doesn't clown around when it comes to dressing up for spirit week. Lettermen give the varsity team a special good luck cheer during the puhlic pep rally. Valerie Mallery wants a Royal victory and that's the truth. To show her enthusiasm during spirit week, Frosh Cathy Collins dresses up like an angel. 40
