Victory For Menis ibber . . . Where can 17 high school boys be found wearing aprons, getting teased to death, accidentally spraying themselves with a water hose and completely en- joying themselves while theyire at it? In the boys' chef class offered at HSHS where else? Only offered for one semester per year, the boys' chef class is now in its fourth year of existance. The teacher of the second semester class is Miss jenny Sue Booth. Accord- ing to her, the purpose of the class is for the boys just to learn to cook for them- selves with safety. Pudding, pies, breads and simple meals, made both from scratch and Kneading dough is a very tricky part of baking bread. Miss Booth shows Pat Bradley the correct technique of kneading dough. Temporarily abandoned from the rest of his group, Rob Moore begins to gather the dirty dishes to be washed. Without taking time to take off his apron, Bruce Brown sits down to enjoy his food. from mixes, were all on the schedule for the boys to learn to cook during the course. Slice-n-bake cookies and puddings were the first type of food the class baked. They later progressed to home- made biscuits, as well as other food made from scratch. Besides cooking, the class also wrote menus and did homework assignments. Grades were based on the above items, class participation and cooking procedure. Miss Booth believes that the boys are much easier to work with than girls. She claims that they are more interested in what they're doing and seem much more co-operative than girls. The boys enrolled in the course really seem to be enjoying the class, especially on the days that they cook. Even the teasing they get from the other students doesn't seem to bother their interest in the class.
