Honor Society-Plateau of Excellence The highest honor bestowed upon a stu- dent at Hamilton Southeastern is election into National Honor Society, for it signifies outstanding achievement in character, scholarship, leadership and service, the ideals of all education. Us David McClary, president, honors Mrs. A. W. Reynolds, Mr. Mel Richards, attorney and former Fishers High mother of jerel Reynolds, for whom the chapter is teacher, addresses the student body on this special named. occasion. New members Tom Weaver, julie Stevens and jim Waterman are required to sign a membership charter, which must be witnessed by a responsible person. The new members of the junior and senior classes become members immediately, while sophomores become pro- bationary members. 30

usicians Display Talents Tlll'Ol1gllOlll Year The high school chorus performs at various functions, in this case a spring concert which was entitled Spring Swing. Mrs. Catherine Lindholm com- pleted her second year at Southeastern, during which time she handled all vocal music activities. Ap- proximately 35 students made up the chorus, and some entered the annual state solo and ensemble contests. Awards for outstanding performances in band went to these students. Mr. Richard Lieber, Dr. Charles Henzie and Mr. joe Kybic all participated in the program . t wa 'i '2- Senior Dennis Foulke received the coveted john Phillip Sousa award this year, presented annually to the outstanding graduating bandsman.
