THE STUDENT COUNCIL Student Council became a more powerful organization this year by controlling the scheduling of events of the assemblies, freshmen initiation, a clothing drive, and the sale of movie discount tickets. In a quest for funds to meet its growing expenses the council proposed an amendment to its constitution which would tax all the school organizations on their profit-making activities. However, the MH, tax issue was rejected by a student body vote. A student advisory board, represented by every school organization, was set up to give clubs a clearer voice in student affairs . 44
