I I was cz long, grueling season Offoolball fi Q Coach Steinmeti strikes a pose similar to that ofthe fighting Hornet. This vearis Iiearsome football team ended its seasonal performance vvith a 4-5 rec- ord. During the season, Nlr. Brvanls hardbacks took a major setback because of injuries, but they held on to their olvmpic spirit. With only l l lettermen returning from the preceding season. Coach 'A Hearn Brvan had to reassemble and shape the entire lineup. These bovs, along vvith three starting transfers, played good football during the second hall of the season, scoring a major upset over top-ranked Notre Dame. The winning combination of tcamxvork, precision, and will-to-compete was the driving force for each plaver. NVith the turf living and records tumbling, Coach Brvanis demands seemed never too great: and the crying tovvelw stayed at the laundrv. Mercer County stars Rogers, Storcella, Holbig and Yogler led the Hornet offense and defense. Coach Chiste says, 'A ltis all work and no play, even on the football field. Coach McEvoy expresses the desire of a win- ning spirit. Coach Bry an anxiously' awaits P.A.'l'. attempt bv his star kicker.
