But in the next game the Hornets saw an early lead fade as they bowed to the powerful Albany eleven. The Hornets rebounded from this defeat to register their second conference victory over Princeton. Next came the King City game and long will we remember that heartbreaking touchdown pass in the first quarter that sent the Hor- nets down to defeat. The Hornets had little trouble in blanking Grant City, and the following week the reserves played half the game as the Hornets downed a weak B1-aymer eleven by racking up three touchdowns in the first quarter. The Hor- nets continued their pace with a victory over Stanberry and ended the season with a victory over Bethany to gain third place in the Grand River Conference. .
