Girls Athletic Association The officers for G. A. A. this year are President, Margaret Spangleg Vice-President, Marilyn Ruppert, Secretary, Marilyn Spangle. The purpose of the Girls' Athletic As- sociation is to complement the school' s physical education depart- ment by providing activities which allow girls to compete with one an- other in sports. This year's activities have includ- ed a victorious softball meet, and an educational volleyball meet with DeKalb. The G. A. A. sponsored two Ladies' Nights which were open to all women of the community. This allowed for the use of all of the school's sports equipment. The annual trip to the I-loliday On lce was followed up by a trip to see the International Skating Champions on their tour of the United States. Six weeks of bowling and a dodgeball tournament, which showed the Freshmen to be the champs, were enjoyed in the spring. Several girls entered the State Gymnastics meet at Muncie, and the finale of our year was the slumber party.

The boys participate in dairy judg- ing, soil and Water conservation, soil judging, and pest hunts. They also participate in local, district, and state meetings. Greenhand s Initiation The first year members in F. F. A. earn the Greenhand degree. For initiation this year the boys were required to attend school Wearing farm clothes and a green paper hand which had to be signed by their teachers. The second year members earn the em. chapter Farmer degree. 10

FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMER- ICA is a nationwide organization which helps high school students de- cide if teaching should be their ca- reer. Of these twenty members, Time to-Represent SEATED, Left to Right: Charlene Rensch, Marianne Watkins, Martha Crain, Susan Schrepferman, Patty Gaff, Carla Schnepp, Bridgett Cox. STANDING: Jim Fuzy, Dave Hamman, Doug Barnett, John Jackson, Jim Cather, Noel Knox, Paul Hamman, Dan Harnish, Jim Ringenberg, Janet Jackson. 12 there are eight seniors who are in exploratory teaching. They are Peg Wilcox, Bridgett Cox, Betty Hicks, Helen Buchs, Dave Hamman, Noel Knox, Delores Amstutz, Sue Hill. ,U M. . -.. f f-if ,..- fl -Q f- -m . , . STUDENT COUNCIL is composed of representa- tives from each class and organization. The Stu- dent Council has been very busy this year with all its activities. They sponsor- ed their annual fund rais- ing drive for the Sheltered Workshop which was very successful again this year. The Student Council al- so sponsored the Home- coming Dance at the old gymnasium. There was a band there for live en- tertainment. The Student Council members also decorated the school with a tree and other ornaments at Christmas time.
