At this time the juniors with lighted candles form an aisle through which the seniors approach and leave the stage. All this lends an air of beauty and dignity to these im- pressive ceremonies. This special ceremony is to be long remembered by each graduating senior. In this picture Betty Hicks and Helen Buchs are shown with their lighted candles. Time to Graduate Gone but not forgotten are the forty-nine members of the senior class of 1968. On May 19, 1968, Baccalureate was held in the high school auditorium. Rev. Everett Mart of the Wesleyan Church gave the add ress. Lester Davis, Principal of Warsaw Freshmen High School, was the speaker for Commencement, which was held on May 22. The two honor students, Judy Kunkle and Tim Thompson, also partici- pated in the commencement program. Judy gave the welcome speech and Tim the farewell speech. Both students were members of the National Honor Society, FTA, and Student Council. They are now attending Ball State Uni- versity. Many of the graduating seniors furthered their education by going to col- lege or schools for specialized education. 1969 -i-l- M SEINIICDRS -.il-ii-in ii I+- P 33+- 3- ' -A r-E. .-3 is EE ge -2: EE .. .. .. .. gg..-.L--. av-.f.-5-..-1 +2 E'-.5 .fi-:-LQ'.-:Lass .a-.Ea-:ffa::1-:-. .-.. ,.. ..,,.. --- .'!-. In the fall of l965 we started out as sixty-one freshmen, ready to set the world on fire. We found that we had much to learn, both scholastically and socially. ln 1966, fifty-six sophomores spent the year learning and adjusting themselves. Soon we were coming back again but as fifty juniors. The highlights of our junior year were the junior play and the prom for which we worked several months. Finally we returned as forty-six seniors, ready to rule. In our final year we presented the senior play, earned money for our senior trip, studied, and prepared for the future. While all this is keeping them busy, they still have time to support their school and lend a helping hand. Even though the interests of the ju- niors range from chorus to basketball, the class works together as a unit for the betterment of the school. This year there were six members of the junior class inducted into the National Honor Society. The juniors have worked hard on the carnival also. Part of the money made during the carnival will be use- ed to sponsor the Junior-Senior Prom this spring. Many of the juniors are looking for- ward to the junior play coming up this year. ,,,,,,.,,,.,, , ........ , sf ,W mwwgaggs'fig'-swsasgmfgvsf sw 2252? W 92w2s,t vv.. .. . Subjects like math, English, art, science and for- eign languages kept us busy. For the first time our class partic- ipated in many high school activities and many freshmen helped whenever the need arose. This was the first year for a fresh- men-only-basketball team and our team was highly respected. The re st of the class proudly backed them. ln the beginning of November our class participated in the school Hal- loween Carnival. We Worked hard and each of the class members con- tributed his time toward the cause. Our money making projects were the Probability Maze and the Bean Throw. Our candidates for the Carnival king and queen were Becky Wilson and Paul Hamman. We also had a gym party the l4th of December. lt turned out to be a great success, and everyone enjoyed him- self. if .X aww fr ,s..sw1: '.w .wr-'Y r .s a x s,fgw3..w:ir- - 1mafmf1w5z :L -. 1 .-: . ,QWZTQTYI -- Litflfzifil Silks gf. 1f'1l5i 'Q ' , ,. Included in these are football, track, and the Halloween Carnival. The most important, though, is basketball. They have won all but one of their regular games and they also won the Hamilton Eighth Grade Tournament for which they received a large trophy. At the Halloween Carnival this year, the eighth graders had two stands. They were the Bobo stand and a new stand, the Fortune Telling stand. Both were quite successful. In January they had a class party and attended a movie. The eighth grade class has four new members this year so the total enrollment is now 59. The eighth graders have now finished the first stage of their educational training. They will soon face ool. of high sch lg., me J the joys and hardships 5 W, .,r, 5.15 -rff-ww ..,. ---- . Our room looked like Mexico with its stained glass Cathedral window, an erupting model of the volcano Paricutin, a huge paper mache don- key, a Mexican band with paper mache rnaracas and tambourine, Mexican dancers, and a candy-filled pinata.
