ALMA MATER There's a place of truth and learning That we love so well It's our own, our Alma Mater Let her praises swell Hamilton Hamilton You will never fail We will ever loyal be Hamilton all Hail! THE CHARIOT HAMILTON COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL JASPER, FLORIDA TROJAN REFLECTION The opening day of school was met with mixed emotions. For FRESHMEN ... this day meant the beginning of a new experi- ence. For SOPHOMORES ... it meant the beginning of more and more responsibilities. For JUNIORS ... it meant class rings and working toward the prom. But most important for SENIORS ... this day marked the beginning of the end-for after this year they would never walk the halls of Hamilton County High School as students again Debbie you made a 100 on Mrs. Young's test!! 2 Turn around Donna, your're on candid camera. The TROJAN BAND plays on The 1975 edition of the Chariot is proudly presented to you from the entire Chariot Staff. Our purpose in this yearbook has been carefully created for your enjoyment in many years to come. With the help of every staff member, we feel that our purpose has been fulfilled 4 9 MRS. YOUNG SOCIAL STUDIES CHAIRMAN Teaching twenty-six years in Hamilton County has been a wonderful chal- lenge. The work in the classroom has always proved interesting to me. After forty-three years teaching, I believe I will always have an interest in young people and their problems. I hope that in some way I have helped my stu- dents to be better citizens and to be better prepared as they advance into their chosen life work. When I retire, I plan to continue to live in Hamilton County and to try to find time to do many things I haven't had time to do before. I am looking for- ward to visiting with friends and relatives and relaxing with a good book or television program, and oh yes, traveling as much as finances will permit. My next dream trip will be to Australia and New Zealand. 7 MR. SANDERS ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL For me, retirement has a dual meaning. It finalizes forty-three years of rewarding experiences in the field of educa- tion, however, it marks the beginning of a new life filled with challenges and opportunities to serve my fellow man. When I return to my home in Camilla, Georgia, I plan to devote my time and services to civic activities and to religious work in the community and the surrounding areas. My career as a school principal spans a period of great change and remarkable innovations in education. It in- cludes services in Georgia and Florida. From 1931 to 1963, I served as principal in the Camilla, Georgia School System. My last eleven years of services has been in the Hamilton County, Florida School System. For six years, I was employed as principal at j.R.E. Lee High School and have worked as Administrative Assistant at Hamilton C ounty High School during the past five years. During my educational career, I served two years in the U.S. Army. Working with the students and teachers in the Hamilton County School System has been a joy and a challenge. The students have a positive attitude toward school and are very cooperative. In the years ahead, I shall treasure my memories of the wonderful students at H.C.H.S. 8 MAY GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU SENIORS TROJAN LEADERS OF 75 President Vice-President Secretary Treasurer Reporter This policy is part of our Citizen Soldier tradition which is founded on the belief that every citizen should be ready to take up arms in time of National Emergency. George Washington best expressed an American idea when he said that every citizen who enjoys the protection of a free government owes his personal services to the defense of it. In high school the junior ROTC Program affords an additional program of instruction whereby the desired learning outcomes are to develop in the student a strong sense of integrity, responsibility, respect for others, the ability to live and work with others and a strong sense of respect for constituted authority. 85 ANVdWCQ V B COMPANY 2ND PLATOON C COMPANY COL. We began with no money and a short season 01 basketball. We were able to schedule only six games the first year. Our record for that year 1972-73 was 4-2. The next year we increased our budget and were able to get nine games of which our record was 6-3. This year 1974-75 we have worked hard to maintain ourselves financially and widen our program to Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Field. We have had a very good season this year in basketball and have a 16-4 record. 118 Florine Dye Judy Johnson Coach-Carol O'Cain Linda Hawkins 119 Standing left to right—Anith Dye, Beverly Humphries, Jainth Dye, and Judy McCloud. Stress the values derived from playing the game fairly. 4. encourage leadership, use of initiative, and good judgement by the player on the team. 5. recognize that the purpose of athletics is to promote the physical, mental, moral, social and emotional well- being of the individual player. 6. remember that an athletic contest is a game,—not a matter of life or death for player, coach, school, official, fan, community, state or nation. 122 WIN-BUT WITH HONOR Standing left to right-Linda Joyce Hawkins, Anith Dye, Katrina Locke, Janith Dye, right-Patricia Newsome, Florine Dye, Sharon Gibbons, and Judy Johnson.
