The group provided help on the Community Playground effort. ALMEDAS: Page 92 — The Almeda Literary Society, a female honor group, initiated members with the traditional costume custom. They highlighted their year with the Almeda Ball. STUDENT COUNCIL: Page 93 — The pivotal student leadership again organized and provided a range of activities and support including May Jam, dances and charitable contributions. SADD: Page 93 — Students Against Driving Drunk helped students and the community with the problem of drunk driving by providing Contracts for Life, speakers, and rides and reminders at dances. MARCHING BAND: Page 94 — The musicians of the Marching Band led H.C.S. down various roads, including the Halloween parade and pageants. JAZZ BAND: Page 95 — The Jazz Band combined old and new in an exchange concert with A. P. N. 90 ORCHESTRA: Page 95 — The Orchestra came together twice this year to turn in fine performances in the Winter and Spring Concerts. GREENSLEEVES: Page 96 — An elite group of the finest singers performed barbershop style music for students and older citizens. CHORUS: Page 96 — The Chorus highlighted their year with school concerts as well as performances for the elderly. MASQUERS: Page 97 — The actors at Hamilton again produced a fine show with Kiss Me Kate, which included such fine numbers as Brush Up Your Shakespeare. , NEWSPAPER: Page 97 — Permanent Waves struggled with internal tension and lack of motivation, yet provided a few interesting and original issues. ART CLUB: Page 98 — The Art Club was an excellent outlet for some of the creative talent in the school and provided scholarships for selected senior members. COMMUNITY STUDENTS: Page 98 — The Community Students program sent some of the finest H.C.S. students to Colgate to take courses.
