THE CLASS OF 1980 PRESENTS: THE HAMILTONIAN 62nd Edition Karen Potter - Editor - in - Chief Mary Purdy - Business Editor Colleen Corbin - Layout Editor Susan Kelin - Photography Editor Elizabeth Lott - Copy Editor Kerri Pinzer - Typing Editor SENIORS These are the best times, The moments we can't just let slip away, life's little games we play, living from day to day. But once in a lifetime, a minute like this is ours to share, remember these moments well, for moments like these are rare, as dreams and golden rainbows. Soft as nights when summer winds blow by, together we laugh and cry, together we'll learn to fly. Come take my hand, together we'll watch the timeless sand, chasing the endless sun, living our lives as one, These are the best times, living our lives as one, These are the best times. THE CLASS OF 1980 For her care and concern for students, her friendly smile, and all the warm kindness she has shown us throughout our school years at H. C. S. , We, the class of 1980, with warmest regards dedicate our yearbook to 3 MRS. SHIRLEY REYNOLDS 4 6 8 9 KIM LEE ALBEE DIONE LEE BALTUSNIK To know that we know what we know, and that we do not know what we do not know, is true knowledge. Don't part with your illusions. For when they are gone, You may still exist, But you have ceased to live. SHARON DENISE BAILEY Being friends is a warm and glowing touch, It's words of kindness that mean so much. Through days and years, that bond has grown, A blessing only friends have known. JOHN H. BEHLER What are you gonna do when you go downtown and you want to rock n' roll? You find they've all gone home, well it's alright. I don't want to be the one to start no fight, you're a straight shooter with a curved sight. ANNA MARIE BROOKS If I don't make too many mistakes, and I can get it right the first time, all I have to do is make the first time last. PAUL M. BRENNAN If it is to be, its up to God and me. n RHONDA LU BROWN Don't be sad 'cause your sun is down. The night doesn't need your sorrow. Don't be sad 'cause the light is gone. Just keep your mind on tomorrow, and carry on. JT SUSAN REBECCA BROWN Dead reasonable .. Reason died last night at eleven. Somebody said that Reason was dead. Reason said.. No, I think not so. PHILIP BRITON BUSCH The heights by great men reached and kept, were not achieved without exertion, but they while their companions worked, were contacting the proper person. 12 WENDY SUZANNE CHARLES CHRISTOPHER STEVEN KERRY CONWAY I guess my feet know, where they want me to go, ...walkin' on a country road. A fool will lose tomorrow, by reaching back for yesterday. COLLEEN ANN CORBIN When a person has a real friend, he learns not only to appreciate another human being, but he also learns to understand himself better. 13 REBECCA JANE EDMONSTON You can't erase a dream, you can only wake me up. ...but then who are we to judge, I mean, who are we? MICHELE MARY ELMER Take the lilies and lace from the days of childhood. All the willow winding paths leading up and outward. This is what I give, this is what I ask you for. WILLIAM ALLEN ENGLE It is inevitable that very small rocks float on water but the duck takes the cake. 14 CHARLES A, FRANDA Knowledge is not enough; one must have drive and ambition to succeed. STEPHANIE JO GIERYIC Our minds are as different as our faces; we are all traveling to one destination - happiness; but none are going by the same road. STEVEN CHARLES FALL I try not to take life seriously. You're not going to get out of it alive anyway. JOSEPH CHARLES GORTON LORI MARIE GROVES Love is something eternal. The aspect may change, but not the essence. Ten thousand things cease not to rise and fall. Creating, not possessing. Working, not taking credit. When the work is finished, it is forgotten. Therefore it endures forever. RONDA L. HARP I want to be alive to all the life that's in me now, know each moment to the utmost. 16 KATHERINE ANNE HOLBROW None of it has to make sense and if it seems funny than that's enough. DAVID NEIL HOLCOMB Now you're afraid that we have changed. And I'm afraid we're getting older. So many broken hearts, so many sad faces, so many Seniors come and gone. ROBERT ALAN HOLCOMB Well, the leaves have come to turning, and the goose has gone to fly, and bridges are for burning, so don't let that yearning pass you by. 17 MARIANNE CATHERINE JOERGER They'll help you and they'll hurt you, you're asked to leave so much behind. They say forget about tomorrow, and concentrate on everything you know you're gonna find. DONNA M. JONES And suddenly you can recall all the senseless time-wasting things you've done__the wasted minutes you'll never recover. And you realize that time is the most precious thing. Because time is life. It's the only thing you can never get back-or find another. PHILIP DAVID JONES No matter how bright the sun shines it always has to set. BRIAN THOMAS JULIAN Happiness is not having what you want but wanting what you have. LAURA JEAN KREHEL There's always tomorrow for dreams to come true, and tomorrow is not far away. SUSAN LESLIE KELIN Whoever has a heart full of love always has something to give. 19 PAUL W. LAMB ERICA MARION LLOYD My new found freedom, only came just now, and I'm experimenting with it still. Nice guys finish last. JEFFREY CHARLES LLOYD Good sportsmanship, we hail, we sing, it's always pleasant when we spot it. There's only one unhappy thing, you've got to lose, to prove you've got it. PAGE MISSING PAGE MISSING MEGAN ELIZABETH MORRIS Look around and choose your own ground, for long you live, and high you fly, and smiles you'll give, and tears you'll cry, and all you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be. SCOTT FRANKLIN NELSON Don't put off'till tomorrow, what you can do today, 'cause if you like it today, you can do it again tomorrow. CASEY DANIEL NOBLE Happy is the man, who finds wisdom... long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and humor. SCOTT A. OGDEN The good die young, because they see it's no use living if you have to be good. MARY BETH PEARSON We need to have people, who mean something to us, people who we can turn... knowing that being with them, is coming home. KERRI ANN PINZER As time passes through our eyes, We only catch a glimpse, Of shadows we once touched, Now slowly fading away. KAREN LEIGH POTTER Each of us is like an unfinished sunset, radiating our own special kind of light on things, beautiful, yet always becoming, waiting to be appreciated. DENISE ANNE POUPORE What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. MALCOLM JOSEPH POWNALL To venture is to cause anxiety; but not to venture is to lose oneself. 25 MARY CHRISTINA PURDY But you must have hope and you must have faith, you must love and be strong - and so, If you work, if you wait, you will find the place where the four - leaf clovers grow. ROGER ALAN h KES Like a guest who stayed oo long, now it's finally time to it ve. Take it calmly and serent it's the famous final scene.1 JOANN L. ROGERS Love and happiness , faith and trust, are the main ingredients for an everlasting and beautiful life together. LAURA A. RUSSELL I love you, my brother, whoever you are... MARK A. SHAUL I alone survived the sinking, I alone possessed the tools, on that ship of fools. NORA M. SLATER Life brings many changes, and many things new; just remember be happy, in whatever you do. JOHN R. TENHOPE Why not think about times to come, and not about the things that you've done. If your life was bad to you, just think what tomorrow will do. JUDE JOSEPH TERRAS Smile, and the whole world will think you're up to something. FRANK ERNEST URBEN 28 Confucius say; bald head like foreign car, hard to find parts. SCOTT COLEMAN WARREN Before we can believe with certainty, we must begin to doubt. LISA ANN WESSING We sang in the sunshine, you know we laughed every day, we sang in the sunshine, then we went on our way. KIMBERLE ELIZABETH WILCOX Let me, O let me bathe my soul in colours; let me swallow the sunset and drink the rainbow. 29 DIANE LYNN WILSON DEMARIS WISE The question to everyone's answer is usually asked from within, but the patterns of the raid and truth they contain have written ray life on your skin. You've got to play to win all the time. There is nothing more disgusting than to see a player who is trailing badly in a match stop trying completely.
