SOPHOMORE CLASS The Sophomore class started the year by electing their officers. Sally Harrison was elected president, Harry Sollie, vice-president, Nick Purdy, treasurer, and Mary Elia, se cretary. Ann Jaquay, Harry Sollie, Zing Rausa, and Mary Ann FitzPatrick were nominated for Student Council, but Mary Ann and Zing were elected. Many new pupils entered the class this fall. These are Marilee Shelton Bette Fogleman, Barbara Becker, Elfreda Chang, Cedric Chang, and Fred Bemis. The Sophomore class is represented in many school activities such sports dramatics music and clubs The boys are well represented in sports Mike Sacco and Buzzy Woods are on the Varsity basketball team and Zing Rausa Harry Sollie Nick Purdy Jim Dunham K n Houck Bud Danehy Peter Wheeler and Allyn Eccleston are on the Junior Varsity The girls are also well represented in many of the school activities About half of the girls were honored this fall by being made members of the Almeda Literary Society The girls were not only well represented in sports but four members of the class are J V cheerleaders Ann Jaquay Mary Ann F1tzPatr1ck Sally Harrison and Mary Elia Many of the boys and girls are also in Band Orchestra and Glee Club Earlier in the year the class had a concession and dance after the New Hartford football game which was very successful UNE I-1 X more . . . . . as 7 2 ' i5iQfafi2s2E5:2:, H' ' S.
