EIGHTH GRADE The exghth grade elected then' off1cers 1n the begmnxng of the year They are as follows Presxdent Joyce Vanderwalker Vxce Presldent Sydney Sm1th Secretary Carol Nelson Treasurer .hm Wxlson We also elected our Student Councxl member who 15 Tom Fztz patrxck Our Sports Councxl member 15 Joyce Vanderwalker Thls year the seventh and exghth grades have had a football squad under the mstructzon of the school The coach was Jack Moyer Durxng the Sherburne game we were unfortunate and Sydney Sm1th broke hxs leg Syd recovered wlthm a month and two weeks at home He was mn the hospmtal to have a cast put on The heerleaders for the Mxdget team helped quxte a bxt by gxvmg them pep to cheer them up The gxrls were coached by Mrs Ames The gxrls on the squad were f'arol Nelson Captam Darlene Horton Sylvxa Adams Jane Knowlton Margle Merkt Martha Palmer Dorothy Gorton and Joyce Vanderwalker were substltutes Durxng the year we had several newcomers to our ranks They are Tony Arnendola Katherme Berms Arnold Becker, Rosemary Moon and Edward l..1nk Sxx students left our class too They are Jerry Sutherland Jane Rogers, Dorothy Bl1nebry Ralph and Raymond Hotchkxss, and Herbert Wxse Durxng the year we had a party whzch was sponsored by Mrs Sholes M1ss Lally and Mr Moore The party was to learn how to dance and dance 1f you knew how The refreshments were punch and cookzes . . . . . . . . , .
