During his senior year he was a member of the bowl- ing team. Next year Mal will probably do office work but hopes eventually to get into naval aviation. EDWARD B. CHATZEK ..Kip,, 116 Church Street Grade School: Church Street f h Stam Club and Although Edward has been a member o t e p the Radio Quiz Club, his real liking is for the great out-of- doors. This has been shown by his work in the Rifie Club and ' Edward will enter the School of the Scout Leadership Course. Forestry of the University of Connecticut. MAXWELL CHERNOFF Buddy 80 Second Street Max came to Hamden from Troup Junior High School. While in high school he participated in the Slide Rule Club and intra- murals. His hobbies are aviation, railroad and stamps. Next year Max hopes to go to college. MADELINE ANTOINETTE CIVITELLO i'Ciui 16 Dix Street Madeline came to Hamden from the Margaret L. Keefe School. While in high school she has been a member of the Italian Club and freshman girls' intramurals. Madeline hopes to attend a school of hairdressing. TERESA MARY CASTIGLIONE Trix 76 Elihu Street Grade School: Spring Glen Since entering Hamden High, Teresa has joined the Italian Club and has been a member of the Freshman Dial Circulation Board. She likes reading, dancing and sewing and plans to enter a school of nursing in the coming year. CHARLES CATANIA Count 68 Church Street Before coming to Hamden. Charles attended Fair Haven High and Commercial High. While with us he has been active in foot- ball and track and has been a member of the Glee Club, the Music Club and the A-Capella Choir. He plans to enter business. DAVID E. CATANIA WJ Doc I fb 205 Helen Street Grade School: Helen Street In high school Doc has been a member of the Scout Leader- ship Club, the Slide Rule Club and has been treasurer of the Stamp Club. He likes all sports. Next year David will continue his work as shoe salesman at Alpert's and then enter either the University of Connecticut or the United States Army. 4X PHYLLIS E. CLARK E' I Phi 9l Lexington Street Phyllis attended Ivy Street School and Bassett Junior High be- fore entering Hamden. She was assistant manager of the circula- tion board of The Dial. She is interested in prominent bands and their recordings. Dancing and swimming are also her hobbies. Phyllis has belonged to the Home Economics Club, Freshman Girls' Glee and Gym Assistants' Club. Next year she will probably go to Stone's Business College. LEE HADDEN CLIFFORD 36 Myra Road Lee has been a member of the Boys' Food Club and the Slide Rule Club. His interests are meteorology, hiking, cycling and the cinema. Next year Lee will go to the University of Maine. JOHN DANIEL COLACRAY Big John 42 St. Mary Street Grade School: Newhall Street At Hamden John played ping-pong, volleyball. basketball, bad- minton and intramural football and baseball. He likes traveling. baseball, dancing and billiards. John's plans for next year are undecided. ELLIS COLEMAN Elly 79 Ralston Avenue Ellis attended Putnam Avenue School and St. Lawrence School before entering Hamden. Ellis is interested in dancing, hiking. archery and swimming. Next year he plans to work. NELLIE GERTRUDE COLLIER Tracy 69 Ardmore Street Nellie was graduated from Spring Glen School. She has been a library assistant. member of the Home Economics Club and the Look Around Club, and has taken part in girls' intramurals. Nellie likes swimming, tennis. ping-pong and hiking.
