AMDEN IGH S 1940 HARRY COPELAND 21 Hawthorne Avenue Before coming to Hamden High, Harry attended the Clinton Avenue School and the Fair Haven Junior High. His activities in high school have included membership in the Student Council, Sub-Freshman Committee, Slide Rule Club, and Election Board for 1939-40. His interests are swimming, tennis, and football. Harry hopes to continue in the field of engineering. MARIO CONRAD CORDA Connie 176 Gorham Avenue Conrad was graduated from the Helen Street School. His activi- ties in hi h school have been the Dramatics Club and the varsit S Y football team, He is intensely interested in sports and also likes to hike. His chief hobby is reading. He hopes to enter North Carolina University n t y r study journalism. , JAMES PATRICK COUNIHAN Jim 36 Thompson Street James came to Hamden from the Centerville School. He has been ember of the Student Council for three years, a member of the Bo ling Club, and a participant in intramurals. Jim chooses bill rds, dancing, bowling, and skating as his interests. Upon gra ation he plans to attend Higgins Institute in Maine. ALLEN EUGENE CRANDALL Gene 27 98 Whitney Avenue Eugene came to Hamden High from the schools of Williams- port. Pennsylvania. In high school he has been a member of the band and also ofthe Boys' Glee Club and of the Mixed Glee Club. His main interests are radio and photography. He plans to attend Pennsylvania State College next year. N DORIS VIRGINIA D'AI2DfI'O' MJ , Sm'I y 9 107 Wintergrien l Doris came to Hamden High from Dunbar School. Her activi- ties in high school have been the Rifle Club and the Badminton and Ping-Pong Tournaments. Her main interests and hobbies include skating, tennis, dancing, and collecting picture post-cards. Her plans for the coming year are indelinite. Page Twenty C

AMDEN GH CELIA JEAN COCCO CeIe 370 Goodrich Street Celia was graduated from Newhall Street School before coming to Hamden. In high school her activities have been chiefly social dancing. Among her interests and hobbies are skating, tennis, sewing, bowling, swimming, dancing, and playing the piano. She plans to enter a business school next year. CORONA MARIAN COCCO Corai' 370 Goodrich Street Cora came to Hamden High from Newhall Street School. She was a member of the Social Dancing Club in her freshman year. Her hobbies include dancing, reading, tennis, bowling, and picture collecting. She is an employee of a department store in New Havcn and hopes to continue in the retail selling fieldf HENRY COFRANCESCO HCC., 46 Burke Street Henry was graduated from the Dixwell Avenue School. In high school he has been a prominent member of the athletic teams, especially in varsity baseball and football. His interests and hobbies are ping-pong, badminton, and bowling. He hopes to continue participating in sports after graduation. JEROME MALCOLM COLEMAN Mal 24 Maplewood Terrace Malcolm came to Hamden High from the Church Street School. In high school his activities have been confined to the Dramatics Club and the Bowling Club. Dramatics and radio interest him most as hobbies. After graduation he plans to enter Brown University. JANET ELIZABETH COOPER Jann State Street, North Haven Janet attended thc Edgewood Avenue School in Westville and the Centre School in North Haven before coming to Hamden. In high school her activities were volleyball and the Dramatic Club. Janet counts dancing, singing, and playing basketball among her favorite hobbies. Her plans for the coming year are uncertain. AMDEN 1940 GH DOROTHY NORA DALEY Dot 233 Augur Street Dot came to Hamden from Commercial H' h Sh ig c ool. Her activities in high school have been confined to basketball. Among her interests and hobbies are reading, writing poetry, dancing, and learning popular songs. She is interested in all outdoor s orts. D . P orothy plans to do oflice work in the coming year. THERESA ANN D'AlVIBROSIO Tress 229 Butler Street Theresa attended the Bassett Junior High and Newh ll S 3 IIQCI School before coming to Hamden High, Her activities in high school have been tap dancing, the Thimble Club, and the Dramatics Club. Her hobbies are dancing, writing poetry, and bowling. Theresa's lan f p s or next year are incomplete. GLENN BURTON DANA Il-Burt!! 4 6 Gorham Avenue Glenn was graduated from the Helen Street School. In high school his activities have centered mainly on the band and orches- tra. He also has been a member of The Dial editorial board. Glenn is greatly interested in all types of sports. He plans to enter Yale University next fall. MARIE FAITH DAVIS Marie 69 Hawthorne Avenue Marie came to Hamden from Spring Glen School. In high school she has been a member of the Girls' Woodwork Club, the Tap Dancing Club, and has participated in intramural basketball and hockey. Dancing and skating are her favorite hobbies. Next year she may attend Larson Junior College. RAYMOND DAVIS ' Ray 3 0 Bagley Avenue Ray entered Hamden from the Church Street Grammar School. He has been a member of the Visual Aid Service th B ' , e oys Home Economics Club, and the Camera Club. He is interested in sports and in collectin old ' g coins and stamps.
