AMDEN IGH 1940 EDWARD M. BENJAMIN ..Ed., 26 Merritt Street After being graduated from State Street School, Edward entered Hamden High. He has been a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and has served with the Citizens' Military Training Corps where his services have received due recognition. His plans for the coming year are incomplete. RAYMOND HENRY BENJAMIN ' Binky 2 6 Merritt Street After being graduated from State Street School. Raymond entered Hamden where he belonged to the Rifle Club in his freshman year. His outside activities are hunting, tishing, skating, and golf. Next year Ray hopes to enter Annapolis. VERONICA LOUISE BERARDESCA Ronnie 211 Goodrich Street Veronica was graduated from Newhall Street School. At Hamden she has been interested in the Tap Dancing Club. Her hobbies are dancing, skating, and reading. After leaving high school Veronica plans to attend a junior college. OLGA PAULINE BERNARDONI Olly 19 Winnette Street Olga came to Hamden from Putnam Avenue School. While at Hamden, her activities included the junior and upperclass Girls' Glee Clubs and the Mixed Glee Club. She was also a gym assistant for three years and a member of the Math Club. Olga is an ardent dance band listener, likes to play ping-pong, dance and read. Next year she intends to enter the New Haven State Teachers' College. PETER BERSANO Pete 1709 State Street Pete was graduated from State Street School. While in Hamden, he has been interested in the Pottery Club and has been a member of the bank staff. Pete plans to attend a business college after leaving Hamden. Page Thirteen

AMDEN IGH , 1940 THOMAS BARLOW ARDRON Tom 33 Marlboro Street Tom came to Hamden High from the Newhall Street School. He has played Junior Varsity baseball and intramural basketball, and is interested in shop and machine work. His hobbies are playing hockey, swimming, and hunting. He plans to become either a mechanic or a carpenter. EDWARD L. ARMENO ,,Ed,, 108 School Street Ed came to Hamden High from the Centerville School. He has played on the Golf Team. His hobbies are drawing, golf, skating, and sports in general. Ed's plans for the future are indefinite, but they will probably include sports. HELEN RITA BALDWIN lizzie 133 Shelton Avenue, New Haven Before coming to Hamden High School, Helen attended the Sacred Heart School and Commercial High School. She enjoys reading and dancing, and her hobbies are singing and hiking. Helen is uncertain as to what she is going to do after graduation. He has been a member of the Model Boat Club, the Stamp Club and the Hi-Y. He enjoys sailing, hockey, and all other sports. Ed hopes to enter Yale in the fall. y EMERY BEHRMANN -Emu 190 Gorham Avenue Emery came to Hamden High from the Mt. Carmel Grammar School. He has been manager of our orchestra for four years. He is very interested in all types of photographic work. Emery's plans for next year are undecided, but he will continue in amateur photography. Page Twelve

AMDEN IGH WINIFRED IRENE BERTINE Winnie 76 Church Street From Church Street School, Winifred entered Hamden where she joined the Tap Dancing Club. Her favorite outside activities are skating, reading, and dancing. Winifred is planning to attend a junior college. LYNETTE JESMA BISHOP MLW., East Main Street Lynette attended the Humiston Grammar School. When she came to Hamden she joined the Dramatics Club, the Girls' Glee Club, the Rifle Club, and the Math Club. Horseback riding, swimming, skating, ping-pong, badminton and dancing are her outside interests. Next year Lynette hopes to enter the University of Connecticut. LORRAINE DEAN BOCTHE llzdorry!! 85 James Street Lorraine was graduated from Centerville School. She has been an outstanding member of the Girls' Glee Club and of the AfCap- pella Choir. She served on The Dial editorial board for two years and has worked on The Cupola editorial board in her senior year. Lorraine is interested in the Rifle Club and the Swimming Club. Her hobbies are horseback riding, swimming and dancing. Next year she hopes to enter college. . LAURA ALICE BORSARI S 1887 Dixwell Avenue From the Centerville School, Laura entered Hamden where she has been interested in the Dramatics Club, the Girl Reserves, the Tinkering Club, and the Stamp Club. She was secretary of the ass in 1938 was a member of the Student Council for two years 4 mid was a representative-at-large to the council in her junior year. 1940 Laura was chairman for the Sub-,Freshman Day Committee in 1940. Her hobbies are sports, reading and dancing. She is undecided about future plans. EMILY RENE BOZZI 53 St. Mary Street After being graduated from Newhall Street School, Emily came to Hamden where as a freshman she served on the Student Council and was interested in the Public Speaking Club and the Archery Club. In her junior year she worked on The Dial editorial board. Emily enjoys sports. She plans to become a comptometer operator. Page Fourteen W
