AMDEN IGH 1937 HELEN SYLVIA BRAVER Touts Helen entered Hillhouse from Mount Carmel Grammar School. As a junior and senior at Hamden she belonged to the Commercial Service Club and played basketball in the girls' intramurals. She is interested in gardening and raising flowers as a hobby. She plans to enter college. LEONARD BRILL Leonard was graduated from Helen Street School and then at- tended New Haven High School. where he was active in the History Club. When he came here to Hamden he joined the Radio Club, Science Forum. Engineers' Club, and the History Forum. His fa- vorite diversion is reading in Ancient and Modern History. He hopes to go to college this fall. JOHN LANCDON BROOKS John entered Helen Street Grammar School, whence he entered llillhouse. While there he took part in the Chess and Checker Clubs and in the Biology Club. When he entered Hamden High his activi- ties increased to the Radio Club, the Science Forum, the Engineers' Club. the Analytical Chemistry Club, and the Trallic Squad. His hobbies are reading and nature study. He hopes to attend Yale. FRANCIS JOHN BURLAND Fluffy Francis attended Church Street Grammar School and Hillhuusc High. He entered Hamden from Hillhouse. after being active there in l'. M. Hockey, Football, and Baseball Teams. He was also a member of the French Club and the Writers' Club. In Hamden his activities have been Varsity Baseball and Football, and Varsity Hockey. He has been assistant circulation manager of The Dial. His hobbies are sports. swimming, and dancing. He plans to enter Georgetown llniversity. BARBARA FLORENCE BURRITT Bobbie Bobbie is a graduate of Putnam venue School, from which she entered New Haven High. During .r two years there she was very active in the Freshman and Sop ore Tri-Y. took part in the Girls' Basketball Club. the Girls' Fi ockey Club. and the Girls' Tennis Club. and was the runner-up in he Freshman Tennis Tournament. At Hamden she joined th ' Glee Club and the Girls' Choir, the English Literature Cl1 Girls' Physical Education Council, and was elected president o H- he Senior Tri-Y. At Hillhouse he took part in Happy Daysu. was a member of the Student Advisory Board, and both the P. M. and A. M. Track Teams. In Hamden he was a member of the Student Council, the Executive Council, the Boat Club. the Wrestling Team, and the Fencing Team. He has served on Tut-3 Vt-LNTURI-I Art Board and on the Senior Prom Committee. Incidentally, Lucien designed the school seal. Collecting ancient and modern firearms is his hobby. Lucien hopes to become a spinal specialist. ROSE CAVALIERI ssR0-a From Centerville School Rose entered Hillhouse. where shc was a member of the Basketball, Baseball, Tennis, Swimming. and Bowling Teams, and of the Biology Club. She plans to train for nursing at St. Francis Hospital. MARY HELEN CIIILINSKA S'fVIun.ya,' Mary entered Hillhouse from St. Stanislaus Parochial School. In llillhouse she was a member of the Newcomers' Club, the Hiking Club, and the Baseball Team. She was treasurer of the Biology Club. ln Hamden she joined the Italian Club and was soon made president. Mary was also active in Social Dancing and in Intra- murals. Her hobby is hiking. She hopes to become a nurse. llcr classmates will remember her in the role of Lady Macbeth. ALICE MANY CHARMAN HAZ., After being graduated from Newhall Street Crammar School, Alice entered Commercial High School. At Hamden, Alice has been a member of the Commercial Service Club, a member of thc Chorus and Clee Clubs, a member of the Social Dancing Groups, and has taken up Intramurals.
