AMDEN I IGH 1937 FRED AULETTA liLanky37 Fred started his career in the Dixwell Avenue School whence he went to Hillhouse. Having always been interested in sports, he joined the Track Team and also the Baseball, Hockey, and Touch Football Teams. At Hamden he continued his sports' program by joining the Hamden Track, Cross Country and Volleyball Teams. As you may have guessed his favorite hobby is sports, but Fred is dai- very in- terested in operas. After his graduation, he plans to attend Alabama University. LUCY BARBIERI uL0un Lucy is a graduate of the Dixwell Avenue Grammar School, from which she entered Commercial High. There she became a member of the News Board, the Biology Club, the Homeroom Basketball Team, and the Glee Club. At Hamden she has taken an active part in the Commercial Service Club, the Home Economics Club, the Social Dancing Group, the Forum, Intramural Activities, and the Needle- craft Club. She has as her hobbies radio and sports. She plans to attend the Baypath Institute, Springfield Massachusetts, next year. SAMUEL BARON The Baron, Sam Sam was graduated from the Milford Grammar School whence he traveled to New Haven to enter Hillhouse. He was an active member of the Radio and Glee Clubs at that school. When he came to Ham- den, he continued his work in these clubs, joined the Model Boat Club, and was appointed to the Business Board of THE VENTURE. Sam's hobbies are radio, driving, and the movies. He plans to study Electrical Engineering at Pratt Tech. LENA ELIZABETH BARRA ..Lee,, I.:-na was graduated from the Dixwell Avenue School, and entered Fair Haven Junior High, where she was a member of the Latin Club. At Hamden, she joined the Economics Club, the Commercial Ser- vice Club, and the Forum. She took part in the Social Dancing, in Intramurals, and was a member of the Needlecraft Club. She has not yet decided her plans for the future. DORIS BARRETT HDD., Doris attended the Worthington Hooker Grammar School, from which she entered Hillhouse. At Hamden her activities have been serving on the Business Board of The Dial, membership in the Eng- lish Literature Club, and working on the Prom Committee. Her hob- bies are dancing, swimming, and reading. She plans to enter the New Britain Teachers' College. Page Fou rteen.

AMDEN IGH 1937 VIVIENNE ANDERSON ..ViU,, Vivienne attended the Orchard Street and Dwight Street Schools. At Commercial High School she was active in the Art and Cleo Clubs. She joined the Art Club at Hamden. Vivienne's hobbies are drawing, reading, and sports. She plans to enter the field of business or of arl. MARSHALL ANTONIO Mickey Marshall was graduated from the Dixwell Avenue School. lle spent his freshman year at Fair Haven .lunior High School where his chief activity was playing baseball. From Fair Haven he went io Commercial High School, where he spent his sophomore year, and then came to Hamden High. At Hamden, he has been the manager of the Cross Country Team. His hobby is playing baseball and taking part in other sports. Marshall expects to go into business after grad- uation. ANN .IOSEPHINE ARMSTEAD Ann was graduated from the Centerville Grammar School. From Centerville she went to New Haven High School, where she partici- pated in the Figure Skating Club. At Hamden she has devoted her energies to her studies. Her hobbies are horseback riding, dancing, and hairdressing. She plans on business for her career. OLIVE MARY ASPLAND Twidge Olive attended Helen Street School and Bassett .lunior High, whence she entered Hillhouse. At Bassett she was in the French Club and the Girls' Sport Club. Her hobbies are reading, dancing, and collecting toy animals. She hopes to travel when she is through school. MARIE ADELE ASTORINO Peanuts Marie was graduated from Helen Street School and attended Hill- house. When she entered llamden, she joined the English Literature Club and the Needlecraft Club. She was also the secretary of the Home Economics Club. Her hobbies are reading, ice-skating, and music. She plans to enter Teachers' College. Page Thirteen

AMDEN IGH 1937 RUSSELL G. BASSETT Russ After being graduated from the Washington School, Russell en- tered Hillhouse, where he took part in track, football, and hockey.. At Hamden he made the Varsity Track Team. His hobby is track. He plans to go to work after graduating. LORRAINE BEACH 4sBabyu Lorraine attended the Helen Street Grammar School, whence she entered Fair Haven High School and then went to Commercial. There she took part in the Orchestra and in the Biology Club. Upon enter- ing Hamden High her activities consisted of the following: serving on the Business Board of The Dial, the Girls' Glee Club, the Mixed Chorus, Orchestra, and the Prom Committee. Her hobbies are music, dancing, and reading. She plans to do office work. MARGARET S. BEATTIE Peggy Margaret was graduated from a grammar school in Queens, New York, and attended the Crosby High School in Waterbury before she entered Hamden. At Crosby she was active on the Swimming Team and in the Speech Group. In Hamden she was elected treasurer of the French Club, was a member of the Girls' Glee Club and of the Mixed Glee Club, the Forum, and served on The Dial Editorial Board. Her hobbies are swimming and skating. She plans to attend Smith College. RUTH LILLIAN BEEBE Ruth attended Dixwell Avenue Grammar School. from which she entered Hillhouse High. Her activities there were the Glee Club and lntramurals, Her activities in Hamden were Choir, lntramurals, and Marionettes She has as her hobbies tennis readinv and hocke' - - N, , . y- Ruth intends to enter Connecticut State College. WILLIAM ll. BEHLER Bill Bill attended grammar school at Simeon E. Baldwin School in New Haven. He spent his first year of high school at Bassett. From there he went to Hillhouse, where he was a member of the Student Council. In his junior year at Hamden, he was vice-president of his class, member of the Student Council, and served on the Prom and Cafeteria Committees. Bill has several hobbies, some of which are the Naval Reserves, rifle target practice, casting, and basketball. He has no definite plans for the future. Page Fifteen gsm
