AMDEN IG 1937 H FRED JACKSON Fred From Spring Glen School, Fred entered Hillho where he was a member of the Hockey and Football Teams. In h cond year, he became a member of the Sophomore W 'ers' Cl and of The Sentinel Editorial Board. He also join e S i-Y. In his sophomore year he was president of t Sm' t visory Board. In Hamden, Fred was president of our clas du ing both our junior and senior years. He was elected to serve as ditor-in'Chief of The Dial for two years, and has made The Dial outstanding among school papers. He was a member of the Band and was accompanist for the Boys' Glee Club. He was also our school correspondent for The New Haven Register. His hobbies are reading, gardening, and music. Fred plans to further his studies at college. ELLIOTT GEORGE BARSKE ..EU,, Elliott was graduated from the Putnam Avenue Grammar School and came to Hamden High School from Hillhouse. At New Haven he was a member of both the Student Advisory Board and the Writers' Club. In Hamden he was associate editor of The Dial, a member of the Boys' Glee Club, treasurer of the Student Council in his junior year, vice-president of the senior class, a member of the .lunior and Senior Executive Councils. His busy life has also in- cluded work on the editorial board of THE VENTURE. His hobby is railroading. Elliott plans to attend either Yale or Brown. JANE MARION ELDER Jane, who professes to have no nickname, entered Hamden High from Church Street Grammar School and Commercial High School. In the latter school she was interested in swimming, bowling, volley- ball, and the Y . When she entered Hamden, she joined The Dial and THE VENTURE Business Boards, the Girl Reserves, the Rifle Club, and the Swimming Club, and served on the Assembly Committee. Jane's hobby is swimming. Next fall she expects to enter Larson's. GEORGE MARTIN ECKLE, III HL-Ck., After leaving Spring Glen School, George entered tlhou e was a member of the Student Advisory Board, the Swimming Team, the Hockey Team, and the Tennis Team for two years, and the Base- ball Team for one year. At Hamden he continued his hockey and was made captain his last year. He was on the Tennis and Baseball Teams his third year and on the Football Team his fourth. His other activities inclutletl The Dial Business Board, being circulation manager the second year. He also served on THE VENTURE Business Board, and on the Senior Executive Board. George is treas- urer of the senior class. His hobby is sports. He is undecided as to which college he is going. ALVINA VICTORIA DELORENZO aw., Alvina was graduated from the Helen Street Grammar School and came to Hamden from Hillhouse High. While there she was a mem- ber of the X. Y. Z. Club in her first year and of the Health Club her second year. While a junior at Hamden she joined the Mixed Glee Club and also served on the staff of The Dial. This year she was a member of the English Literature Club and the Cinema Club, and has done excellent work as Assistant Editor of THE VENTURE. Her hobbies are swimming and skating. She plans to enter Skidmore College to become a bacteriological technician. There are persons who believe she will do outstanding work in writing, too. Page Ten
