Once there was a bo NY HOBBY: GUNS when guns were first made in the early days, they were shot by using a flint and a hammer connected to one side of the gun. A little later a flint was not needed, and these guns were successful They were made of wood and metal. The powder was put in the gun by a stick with a small piece of cloth at the end of it. This type of gun, called a musket, was used in the Revolutionary War. There were guns guns that were made in very heavy and crude. in the old days. They is the back of the gun there is a metal piece inserted. after that which did not need a flint.
