In order to sell more annuals at the end of the second semester, we established a contest among the classes. ln this contest, each class elected candidates For queen and king. Thus each class worked hard selling annuals so that their royal pair could reign over the Coronation Dance. The contest was won by the senior class. This year completes four years of victory for the graduating class of '59. The king and queen were Bob Lee and Janice Spore. HALSTEAD RURAL HIGH SCHOOL Halstead, Kansas 0. The best individual performance of the season was that of Mike Wardlaw, when he fin- ished fifth in the low hurdles at the Emporia Relays. Mike McCusker was elected captain for the year. He was the only man on the squad who competed in the regional meet, get- ting sixth in the mile run.
