The Halstead High School concert band was directed by Mr. Frank Malambri and was made up of 59 students. In September they marched at the Hutchinson State Fair and participated in the Emporia Band Day being the number one band in the parade. In October the marching band participated at Newton for the Bethel College homecoming. For League contest they went to Nickerson on March 26 and received a superior lus rating At Emporia, for district contest, on April 5 they received a highly superior rating. The numbers played on both occasions were, lnvercargill and Finlandia. The band also gave two concerts this year. The first was the mid-winter concert given in November and the other was the spring formal concert given in April.
