This was followed by the Band Day at Emporia State. We were then chosen to play at the finals of the Kansas State Class A Basketball Tournament at Hutchinson, Our mid-winter and spring concerts were highly successful, as was the pep band for Ei all home basketball games. At Mid-Kansas League Music Contest we received 11 highly superiors, 6 superiors and 2 excellents, next at the K, S, H, S, A, A, District Contest at Hutchinson we received 8 highly superiors, 10 superiors and 5 excellents, and at the State Contest at Emporia we received 5 highly superiors and 2 superior ratings. The band received a highly superior rating at both league and district contests for the ninth straight year, The final event of the year for the band is the Commencement and Baccalaureate, Compliments of LOHMEYER OIL CO, STElN'S HOME FURNISHING STORE
