ROBERT WEGGE izzia .--l 1EE:Q4'C::::a As we turn back the hands of time, we the seniors of Halstad High, find many pleasant memories It seems only yesterday that twenty five happy little first graders began their education Mrs Joan Grossman was our very first teacher During the grades, several new members joined our class Some of them are still with us while others have gone In the third grade, Donald and Wallace Flyberg Joined us However, they left us in the sixth grade. Orland Ness joined us in the fourth grade In our sophomore year he, too, left us We welcomed Sonya Sharpe in our fifth year of school She must have liked us for she has stayed with us ever since One of the most memorable events occurred when we were privileged to enter Junior high As all other seventh graders of previous years we felt very grown up Marlys Olson Joined us this year but, unfortunately, she left us the following year It seems that every class gains quite a few members from North Dakota in their freshman year We were no exception Rose Kozojed, Gene Forseth, and Neil Rognlie are the three 'Dakota kyds ' Joanne Knudtson, Beverly, and Bob Kruse also Joined us this year we presented our first plays The names were 'Last N1ght's Paper' and 'Charge It Please ' We really enjoyed giving these plays Perhaps the most outstanding event of this year, however, was being invited to the Junior Senior Prom Grace Nelson, who had been with us since the first grade left us this year We all missed her very much Many things happened to us in our Junior year We gave another play called 'The Campbells Are Coming ' We really enjoyed presenting this play Of course, we can't forget how very thrilled we were when we received our class rings The last big event of our Junior year was sponsoring the Junior Senior Prom The beautiful formals and the decorations carried out in the 'Candyland' theme, made lt an unforgettable memory of our high school daze We were very happy to welcome another member to our class in our senior year He is Robert Wegge Now that we are seniors time is passing very rapidly Working on our annual hasn't been very easy, but it has been oulte fun Soon we will present our last class clay, and then COMMENCEMENT As we think of this day we have feelings of both Joy and sorrow Soon we will have finished one chapter of our life, only to find ourselves in another But because these twelve years have been so wonderful we look forward to the ones in the future knowing they, too will be wonderful if we try to make them so Our sophomore year was a very exciting one for UB. This was the year Florence Aarestad is rather quiet and shy But we all know that she'll get by She comes to us from way up east, not And in business, she's our star far, ' Jerry Anderson, our studlous sports star Likes to study and comes out best by far Now Jerry goes down Moorhead way, For D1anne's there so he's there to stay Solveig Christiansen, a homemaker to be Knows Frankie is the one for she Now at math Bos works with the ease of a daisy, Just try to stump her 1t'll drive you crazy As for direction, he finds the Northeast is swell For there he has blonde Darlene, A girl he thinks is real keen Carol Henderson says Da1e's the best The way she works for us she never has time to rest This cheerleader, a teacher plans to be, But I think a housewife is what we'll eventually see Donie Herberg thinks basketball's 'gone' man, Cause we all know he's a real soorts fan In school, he likes to tease real well, And he sure thinks the northern girls are swell Bev Hesby, our little, speedy cheerleader, Doesn't care for 'k1ds', but plans to be a teacher Bev's so cute and always full of tricks, And we all like her so what she says sticks George Hoffman thinks the bass and band are tops, So we might find him in the Boston Pops' In our class he's the good natured fellow, Whenever you meet him, he's sure to say, 'hello Marlys Holm, our sweet soprano, Does also real well on the nlano Why she's always busy as a bee, For an excellent secretary is what we will see Luther Jacobson says the farm's for him, For 1t's the only place that will satisfy his every whim He thinks the Pont1ac's just the only car, And ae know that 1t's taken him ever so far Nancy Johnson, our little vivaclous gal Is just so sweet that she's our pal Now English with Nancy goes over big, And I know speech is also something she can dig Joanne Knudtscn comes from Good Hope afar, And she certainly thinks Wally's a star, Now Jcanne's as swell and cute as they come, And when she gets to work she really gets things done. V IIN ff gl? s 'f ' f - 7 l I Gene Forseth likes the farm real well. 1 'I 9 Pom Kconn 5 Rosie Kozojed, a blonde if there ever Thinks North Dakota's swell, that she was, does' Bob's the guy we see for her, If you don't believe us just ask her Yes Sir' John Kulstad's,our scientist at heart Why you can hardly get him and his chem lab apart He is just the worst for teasing But Bev e Bev An we take it, cause he is kind of pleasing and Bob Kruse, our famous pair, both always game when lt comes to a dare likes business, Bob likes sleeping, we wish them, 'just the best in keeping John Lervold's a Chevy man at best Why just ask him, he'll tell you the rest For Jokes he's always got the best in the land As for personality, man, he goes to beat the band Loretta Melting, our cute dancing star, Is just the bell in our grade by far Now business and Interstate have her crazy, Or is it just cause Aroh1e's down at the A C Wally Norum, our handsome strong man, Is just 'the most , and gentle as a lamb Wally is but definitely our intellectual, And we all know that he will really get along Merlin Peterson Now there's a guy' We don't know how, but he'11 get by He comes to us from Hendrum direction, And if laughter's what you want, WOW he's perfection Neil Ronglie, a Ford man at heart, Thinks and says the rest of the cars are sure to fall apart Neil is the best Joe, except when sleeping, Then he doesn't even find a towel thrown by Kerrigan awakening Janet Steenerson, our good natured gal Gets along with everyone, including Norman just swell I'll wager housekeeping is the thing for her, And Norman's her man, that's for sure Jeroma Trandem our pretty homecoming queen, Is a girl we all In our class you When looking for Robert Wegge has think is keen won't find anyone kinder her, her red hair makes it easier to find her a happy way He seems to be in a quite good humor all the day He and Janet are a comical team, For she thinks his personality real keen I'm Sonya and I hope you drink three glasses of milk a day, As far as I'm concerned, that's the only way I think school here is so much fun I just wish I could never say it's done I 9 Ar . d '.
