Jan 23 Halsey traveled to Philomath and floated to an easy victory over the arriors, S2 M2 Dick Vannice led all Pirates, SCOPlHL 17 Sll hers Jan 26 After losing three league games Halsey came back to trounce the Brownsvllle Indians for the second tile, 6 39 The scoring was well divided among the startirv five players Jan 30 After a 60 mile trek to Woodburn, Halsey d feated a stubborn Boys' School team MS O ln a rough and trmble game Don Noore scored 1? points F 2 Next Halsey got revenge on Harrisburg, down1ng them M, 9 Both ball clubs nlayed outstanding games Stan Falk ard Vern Varnice led Halsey scores with 12 and ll re spectively Feb 6 Coburg came over to Halsey to suffer a defeat, Halsey, regaining stride took them with a margin, 52 no Vern Vannlce tallied 25 points to lead the Plrates' conquest Feb 9 Halsey took revenge on bhed with a w1n over the Cardinals, after having been upset earlier this season Vern Vannlce tallied 10 of the Pirates' total UO The final score was no 39 Feb 13 Later Halsey romped over the Boys' Training 17, led the rough and tumble game Feb 16 Next nalsey galned revenge by hanging a M6 defeat on the ball City uountaineers Don Moore and Vern Vannice led the Pirates with 16 counters Halsey started the Linn County Tournament with a w n over the stubborn but unconvincing Shedd Cardinals Ron Hotchkiss and Vern Vannlce led the Pirates with 1 and 12 points respectively In a thrilling game Halsey overcame the Harrisburg eagles I 2 lt was a close and exclting game all the way through Vern Vannice led the winners with lh points Halsey went down to defeat against the agles when the dumped the Pirates S 38 Stan Falk led the losers with 1 counters The next night Halsey claimed themselves Linn County charms when they defeated the H8PPlSbHPg agles Uh 37 Dick and Vern Vannice led the Pirates with 13 po nts apiece Champs of the Linn County Tournament, Halsey traveled to mugere for the District 3 B Tournament Halsey came out on top the first night b defeating a small but spirited team from Alsea Leading the way was Ron Hotchkiss with lL counters and Vern Vannice with ll points The second night Palsey overcame a stron but not strong enough Pleasant Hill team F1na1 score w s 3 23 Stan Falk and Don oore contributed most of the scoring but Dlck and Vern Vannice played a very good floor game the coach and all the Halsey followers, evervbody on tre team was an all star, but Vern Vannice, Stan Falk, Ron Hotchkiss and Don loore heloed make up the 8 outstanding ballplayers in the tournament according to a group of judges consisting of various officials present O , v lv YA 4 ' Q A T In - , C ' N 'I' .S o ' s u H 7 ' s LJ' - ' AJ . , -M ' ' e- eb. , H .
