Between the two groups, they are responsible for the Naval Tactical Data System, the gyrocompasses, the engineering and security alarms, the ship's telephones, the sound-powered phones and the pit sword. Since there are IC circuits all over the ship, the DI crew is constantly moving from the forecastle to the fantail and from the windbird to the pit sword. Entertainment is also DPS forte'. They kept us informed and entertained via the ship's enter- tainment system and the ever popular Closed-Circuit Television station KAOS, channels 2 and 4. The ship's Journalist, also a member of DI, kept us informed of upcoming events with the BULLSH EET, and our families informed with the Familygrams. ' CCTV Q

M lb' ,. ...hut if l ...Q Soon after our departure from San Diego, we had our first underway replenishment. Little did we know at the time, that this was just the first drop in what would become a flood of underway replenishments. In this case, USS HALEAKALA CAE-251 had brought a Terrier missile from her homeport of Concord, Cali- fornia, to transfer to us between San Diego and Ha- waii. The heavy weather we experienced delayed the transfer, but eventually the seas calmed and we made our approach. This first unrep was soon completed and the high HALSEY standards of efficiency and safety were established for the rest of the cruise. Re- arming is probably the most complicated evolution we can perform at sea, requiring the utmost coordination, skill and physical agility by all hands. A Well Done to all hands for the professionalism displayed in this unrep and all the succeeding replenishments. MTN Q
