jAa OF a .- “ Yesterday, Today, And Tomorrow” Determine Future A still, warm, overcast night greeted the early arrivals for commencement. Soon the sound of footsteps crossing the parking lot and entering the stadium, perhaps for the last time was heard. A minute of waiting, and then “Pomp and Circumstance” began. One hundred and twenty-nine strong, the “Class of 79 marched to their places of honor. Following Father Kirk’s invocation, Salutatorian John McDonald gave a speech on goals of education and Student Council President Carlene Scheri refreshed the memories of four years spent together. Then the moment many had come to see arrived. Superintendent Westrum presented the “Class of 1979”, and class President Rich West began to announce the graduates. One by one the class received their diplomas, then flipping their tassles as they left the stand. Valedictorians Lynn Bochtler, Susan Filippini, Donna Palmieri, Barbara Prokup. Jean Schultz, and Brian Victor reminisced over the past, congratulated the students for the present, and anticipated the class’s future in the world. Leaving the field fresh with congratulations the class enjoyed thoughts of old memories and new dreams. It was a time to remember. Dedicating her song to the “Class of 79 , Nina Merli sings “Do you know where you arc going to?” Brian Victor gives advice to the class on their future occupations and pursuits. Graduation 29
