It is with the aid of extended work in these fields of study that modern life progresses, General mathematics, algebra, geometry, advanced algebra, and trigonometry are offered for students desiring to major in mathematics. In this era of great scientific de- velopment the study of science is valuable. General science, biology, physics and chemistry may be selected by the students. A general math class. Vocations Give Training In Practical Arts. ln the vocational department, wood shop, machine shop, agriculture, and mechanical drawing are offered to many students. Wood shop is divided into a beginning group and an advanced group. All freshman boys interested in vocations take exploratory shop. Students in wood shop have made end tables, gun racks, cabinets, and many other proiects. Besides these, the boys in advanced wood shop have made numerous repairs in the building, painted the electricity and projection rooms, put pad holders on the typing desks, enlarged the con- cession stand under the football stadium, and built a new magazine rack for the library. The boys in machine shop learn to operate a lathe and many other useful machines. They also learn the use of many other practical tools.
