Vustng eughth grade students take tests Freshman VISIfIng Day The annual freshman vusutung day sponsored by the lTry Club under the supervusuon of Muss Euleen Connolly was held on May 9 1952 at Hall Townshup Hugh and Vocatuonal School Thus day us classed as one of the most Important days of the school year The purpose of thus day us to oruent the uncomung freshmen wuth the school The congestuon whuch was created when the freshmen had no knowledge of the school at all IS partly elumunated The gap whuch us formed when the student goes from elementary school to hugh school IS broken and each student no longer looks back to see what he us mussung Instead he looks ahead to the brughter years before hum One hundred forty students were the guests of Hall Hugh thus year They came from the eughth grade classes of the Sprung Valley Junuor Hugh School and the Immaculate Conceptuon School and from the grade schools of Ladd Dalzell Bureau Hollowayvulle Seatonvulle Cherry and Arlungton Marulyn Meuser was general chaurman for the day The vusutung students were guven a test whuch wull help both the teacher and the student These tests wull help to determune whuch subuects wull be best suuted for the student Pamphlets weue guven to the students to acquaunt them wuth such thungs as expenses dufferent subuects and the explanatuon ofthe buuldung A general tour of the whole buuldung was conducted to enable each student to famuluaruze humself wnth most of the classrooms The tour ended In the new audutoruum To show that school need not be all work Hall students put on a program whuch represented the vocal band and speech departments Refreshments were then served Page n netccn asf - ,1,.
