Laura Burfard - 1975 Key Club Sweetheart Hall's gay crew. Sponsored by KEY CLUB Key lub H eips With Festivities During the year, the Key Club took on many activities. For their first proiect, they co-sponsored the homecoming festivities. The band, GILBRALTER, was selected to play for the dance held after the game. The club also provided escorts for the homecoming royalty. This year, instead of providing a calen- dar, members selected one girl to become their club sweetheart. Laura Burford was chosen for this title. The basketball and track schedules for the year were sponsored by the club, and members aided the Christmas Seals pro- gram. Blood was donated to the Red Cross by a few of the members, and sad faces were turned into huge smiles as members visited the Children's Hospital for Christ- mas. Doug Parrish served as president of Hall's chapter of Key Club. Mr. Charles Thompson was the club sponsor. Chapel Club Designed To H eQ9 Students As a non-denominational group, the Chapel Club was designed to help and support their fellow members on campus. There were no dues, no officers, no roll and no announcements in the bulletin about the meetings. Meetings were spontaneous and the members sang and discussed the Bible. The students volunteered to speak at meet- ings. At each of the meetings a prayer request was filled out and each student took one. Then during the week each per- son prayed for the person on his or her request slip. During faculty week, the names of the faculty were put into the box. Each mem- ber took one and did something for that teacher during the week. For example, some put a Christmas card in the teacher's box or helped the teacher in some way. The faculty members attending the meetings were Mrs. Gordon Fendley and Mrs. John Short. 3 7. ,fm -'Ti59I?:2 23? 5153 . M., . if , ,-fL'i3Q?
