Outstanding skits and strong interest produced an ELE TIO FOR CHANGE The spring elections for student body officers highlighted a busy conclusion to the 1984-85 school year and signaled a promising start for the 1985-86 year. Upperclass- men and faculty members praised the campaign skits as the the best ever. Adding interest to the skits were the contests for offices. Un- like the last few years, no person ran unopposed. It was, in fact, the 1-5uhL 'N' 5? L first time in years that there was a race for the presidency. A spirit of unity ultimately prevailed after the election of Roger jenkins, who unseated Martha Wilson, the in- cumbent vice-president. After years of female-controlled govern- ment, students elected two girls and two boys to key positions. New leadership initiated several new programs. Highlights, in addi- tion to traditional programs, wercl an assembly to inform students o the new seatbelt law, an inspira tional Thanksgiving program, and an unusually successful Homecc ing dance. One obvious and novative approach challen student minds as the SGA we posted an inspirational thou for the week.
