THE POWER OF LO A recent survey of teachers across the country found that teachers are a dedicated group of professionals who are anxious to improve the educational system. Most significantly, however, the survey revealed that the love of teaching is a powerful inducement to teachers and is probably the dominant feeling that keeps them in their jobs. The poll also found that teachers face a multitude of frustrations. Nationally, 96 percent said they love teaching and 91 percent rate their schools as ex- cellent or goodg however, only 47 percent think teachers are respected by society. At Halifax Academy a Yearbook Staff survey of teachers resulted as follows: sq EARLY MORNING DUTIES demand the attention of Mrs. Becky Chalmers as she collects lunch money. Essential to the maintenance ofa strong school, various organiza- tions and individuals gave of themselves, many voluntarily, to provide the most conducive environment for an effective education. Providing funds, creat- ing fun, cleaning up after fun, and having fun characterized the fundamental roles of support personnel.
