Not only was the program open to boys this year, but girls were also able to participate. The major purposes of the program were the building of character and the teaching of basketball fundamentals, besides competition. One of the student leaders, Ronnie Keeter said, HI like working with little kids and teach- ing them things they don't know. Fifth-grader Mitch Hales added, Not only do we have fun, but we learn the importance of good sportsmanship. The program, sponsored by the Guidance Depart- ment, was beneficial to both advisers and participants. FUNDAMENTALS OF SHOOTING are demonstrated to Saturday moming basket- ball participants by Ronnie Keeter, a student leader of the program. Grades 6-8 III
