First of all there were senior portraits. The yearbook picture was free, but to buy any or all ofthe portraits cost an average of 5100. The next most important expense was class dues. This fee was a major one that cost each senior 51542. October brought additional fees. Tassels cost 353 each. When spring rolled around, Prom was the main attraction. Prom dresses ran an average cost of S150 while tuxedo rentals ran 1 around 2570. The guys were stuck with the dinner bill of an estimated 51535 and the cost of flowers, which was about 530. Another cost that concerned seniors in the spring was the senior trip. An average of 540 was spent on that annual pilgrimage. Throughout the year, seniors confronted various other ex- penses: college admissions applica- tions were completed - many with application fees that added another S530 each. Another im- portant cost was the 512 yearbook subscription. Thus, the overall estimated senior bill was 15450 for the girls and 15430 for the guysg never- theless, seniors learned that the best things arenlt always free! if: ' - iiik iigii e-. ---- 1 'Qs i . 1, 'I Q gi I S .1 . 3 b I .
