Th n came th ICTORIES With the spirit stick theirs, the Class ol' '87 enthused the Vikes to avenge an early-season heartbreaking loss to Northeast. With the team ahead at the hall' and on the wav to victory, Miss Deborah jean Hargrove, daughter ol' Raymond and Barbara Hargrove, was crowned Homecoming queen. Overwhelmed at the an- nouncement, Debbie recalled, 1 was really shocked! I had no idea that I would win! 'lihe S.G.A. opted to hire a disc xjocke rather than a live band for the c ance. Skeptical initially, the student body reacted favorably with strong attendance. That success waskjust a part of a week ol' victories. Kim Sa mon lamented, l'll never forget my senior Homecoming Week. THE DISC JOCKEY GAINS THE FAVOR of the student body and gathers them to surround the faculty and chaperones. Roger Jenkins, student body president, joined Mrs. Spragins to revive the twist. SHOCKED BY THE ANNOUNCEMENT, Debbie Hargrove and her father Raymond Hargrove allow the host of photographers time for a pose. III Homecoming
