ot ju ta gy , but a dreamland Although the 1985 junior- Senior Prom started slowly, by the night of April 26, the gym had turned into a dreamland that no one would forget. From a stairway to heaven, a dream castle, a drifting dreams balloon, to a balloon fountain filled with goldfish, the decorative atmosphere could not have related the theme On the Edge of a Dream more perfectly. The work on the gym began April 19 with few people helping construct the walls, in fact, most iiltlftfwl C' days and nights of preparation saw less than half the class present to work. However, when the work was completed, everyone had con- tributed in some way whether it was by coloring a wall, stapling paper, Stringing angel hair, or inflating balloons. Pam Shearin recalled, I didn't think I'd ever finish that gigantic teddy bear, and I really got worried when we ran out of paper and had to use toilet tissue. otju ta but a dreamland After the frantic pace and the fun-filled hours of preparation, Friday arrived. Still there was work to be done. Tables had had to be positioned, and the plates, napkins, and name tags had to he placed on them. The streamers had to be strung, and final food preparations had to be made. For many, working on the Prom preparations provided more fun than attending as classmates were always playing around and having fun as friends. Kim Salmon echoed those sentiments when she remembered, Making all the finishing touches continued was the most exciting part. It was then that I finally realized that I had helped to create a prom that was going to take place that very night. Traditionally, the seniors realized the efforts ofthejuniors as they debuted during the Senior Walk. As the purple and silver sparkled and the seniors were in- troduced by Class President Ronnie Keeter, Casper provided music to match the quality of the occasion and dreams became realities. fs.fQ ' 1 41 98 III junior-Senior Prom
