Homecoming Here they come What? are they sick? Walldng in this parade Hoping that the judges will pick The creation of a dream they made. Now they walk, dressed up like clowns, Or in fancy clothing Like long length gowns, The people in the stands Scream and cheer As the procession moves on Bright colors flying, Bright smiles praying For the extra point. Now they move off the bright green field, And hopes begin to mount, Then a man takes the votes and, As he starts to count, Anticipation like a fog does hang On everyone who's there, Yet whether they win Or whether they lose, Everyone's there to share, Where the work was really play, This is just part of the thrill when you participate in Homecoming Day.
