English In the Senior year, the English department has a great variety of electives. Greek and Roman Mythology, Multi-Media, Sports Writing, in addition to Film and Film Making are a few of the choices. Especially interesting is a course in Science Fiction. This has been popularized by the recent U.F.O. scares, new insights into our universe, and current best selling books, such as, Chariots of the Gods. Social Studies A poll of the various Social Studies classes was taken dealing with the question, What is Social Studies?l' The results were a number of opinions and definitions. It seems that the majority felt that Social Studies varies according to the time spent delving into it. Some of the observations were: Social Studies is a semi-mathematical, objective analysis of past eventsg it is an interpretation of events and their reaction on the growth of a nationg and a prevalent view was that it is learning how not to make the same mistakes.
