Cross Country Our League record was 5-1 with a loss to Walt Whitman. The ambitious and undiscouraged team ended up in second place in the league and the county, losing only to Walt Whitman. This year's team was the most successful team Hills has ever fielded. Bob Davies, captain, met the qualifications of the State meet held at Sunken Meadow. Vinnie Maida, Pete Fernandez, Dennis Noskin,john McGorry, Marty Lake and Tom Dannals represented the Hills team. Coach Robinson, although leaving to coach at the new high school, is still looking forward to a successful year next season. Returning juniors of Vinnie Maida, Pete Fernandez, Dennis Noskin and Tom Dannals will certainly try to keep the number 1 team continuing that way. n V li' .ag- W N.. Q .ik . Track and Field Track and Field will prohahly never rank with the glamour sports of Half Hollow Hills. hut, nevertheless, track and field is fast becoming a popular sport. Realizing that not many people know that a track team exists, in fact a championship one, the following sections will introduce the three aspects which compose track at f . r.ii.' rlt. .T . .. wii. Winter Track The 7-1-75 Winter Track season ended on an extremely successful note. The team. coached again this year by jim Brennan, won their first league title in five years. Although they were tied with Brentwood for the dual-meet championship, they put it all together and, in an exciting last minute finish, Hills pulled ahead and heat Brentwood for the league title. Although only placing Brd in the county meet, the team fielded an individually successful group. Captains Mike Bigham and joe Lihertelli headed up a fine team, including our county champion in the shot put, Phil Dunlay. Next year we hope to have an equally winning and successful team.
