SUPERVISING PRINCIPAL HALEYVILLE, ALABAMA Since Life is the theme of the 'Sh Havala, I shall attempt to offer some thoughts on this page in keeping with the theme: Someone has likened Life to climbing a ladder on which some rungs have rotted and which suddenly give way, landing you back with a jolt near where you started, and with a higher step than before if you're to go on up. It calls for grit, strength and courage and a steady head to avoid dizziness and falling off as you approach the topmost rungs - the Rungs of Success. It's more competitive now than ever before, but face the fact with a strong heart and all determination, knowing that the tougher thecompetition the greater the prize. Probably the finest words of guidance ever spoken to a young person is to be found in the words of Polonius iJ1Shakespere'splay, Hamlet: To thine own self be true And it shall follow as the night the day Thou cans't not then be false to any man QQAAM 1 at ' 7 N I . v K v I - J ' I. 1 fl . -Q I . - Q Khf' .,.,,vq, I X 'ww GCDGO' 0606 991:03 -me !
