We went out with the intention of showing them we were winners. This was our first year of Catholic League play. The result: We won our pre-season games and took one league game -very commendable for a first year team. We had made our first hurdle to success. Barry was master of ceremonies of our second annual sports awards night On our fall sports awards night the football, track, and cross- country teams were given recognition for their accomplishments. The track team received the awards they had won during the season in addition to the ones to be received for their accumulated progress. Ron Alson, who played offensive tackle, received the team's 'GMost Valuable Player award. A very important man in the Chicago Bear organization, defensive halfback Roosevelt Taylor, was on hand to present him with the trophy that will bear his name in the trophy case. I4 1
