Class Prophecy I hate never believed tn fortunetelhng and yet I am as curtous as the next person So on june 13 1951 I found myself seated ln front of a small round crystal ball I was so exclted that I took ltttle nottce of the furtuneteller who was seated dmrectly oppos1te me on the other s1de of the small ball The ltghts were turned down and my compamon began talkmng to herself fter she had commumcated wxth the so called sp1r1ts a plcture appeared w1th1n the ball It was a school gymnaslum and speakmg to an assembly was none other than myself 'viy compamon announced that I was speaklng on the subject Never Talk Out Durlng 'I 'lass Thxs was xery comlcal for how could I conx mce anyone not to do somethlng that I myself had spectahzed In dolng I was also supposed to be able to gue the longest talks of anyone 1n my held Thls I could bel1eve because I had always l1ked to express myself vocally ln school Anyone could have told you that I asked the fortuneteller mf tt would be posslble to look 1nto the futures of my classmates wxth whom I had graduated a year ago She explamed mt would be extremely d1ff1cu1t but for a sllght extra charge she would be glad to try I showed her the class composlte that I Just happened to have with me and agam the hghts were dtmmed The fxrst plcture was that of a dancing couple They were very graceful and as they danced around I noticed the man was Frank Vodoklys Frank an accompltshed dancer? ll 111 wonders ever cease' I-hs partner could be only one person for no one else could be so llght on her feet as Altce Dexter Str1ctly buslness ltke they made a wonderful couple The next plcture was that of Dantel Enneguess whose art lessons had led to hxs br1ll1ant career of drawmg cartoons for Polly P1gta1ls a magazlne for little glrls The edltor of thls magazme was our own mntelllgent classmate Ruth St1les Ruth had always been very fond of little glrls and her two youngest daughters made wonderful models for Danny The boy who had always loved to talk about forexgn affa1rs and l1sten to news broadcasts was now the World s Number One Commentator of Forelgn Affa1rs In fact the Presldent of the Umted States dared not say a word wlthout Roger Derby s mpproval Roger at long last was frxends w1th a Pres1dent All hms hfe he had worked to help elect a Repubhcan and at last he had succeeded Roger had obtained a prtvate secretar1al Job for Dorrance Leard Dorsey was now the Pres1dent s secretary and could take dtctatlon at 180 words a mlnute Furthermore he had recewed a reward for belng able to erase faster than anyone else whale transcrlblng Dorsey s ltfe wouldn t be complete unless he was singing all the txme so he had become known ln the Whlte House as The man wlth a song from Matthew Boon s Wond Vruncns Warren had been elected Dlrector of a new Agrmcultural Program at shmpton and Treasurer of a realty Corporation tn Boston He spent his time comm xtlng nn a hugh powered jet car from Boston to V ashlngton Hts assxstants whr n xmbered about smty were respons1ble for the routine labor Sktp had always been an efhcxent boy but never nn a hurry Now he left the effxcxency to his assxstxnls and wen! srwedxnp aromd In a jc! car 18 , . . . . . , I ' D I ' I . .
