FRESHMEN--BACK ROW, Left to Right: Meryl MacArthur, Glenda Harford, Elaine Cox, Bill Sharp. FRONT ROW: Barbara Walker, Connie Evans, Mr. E. Mumma, lnstructorg Cathy Stute. Freshman initiation was held during the first month of school. As the tradition goes, the Freshmen have to wear whatever the Seniors think best. This year they were attired in gunny-sack dresses with open shoes, wire bracelets and pop-bottle-cap earrings. They were not allowed to wear make -up, nor were they permitted to comb their hair after it was washed. After a day in school helping the Seniors with their little tasks , a party was held in the school lunchroom. The Freshmen had a few tricks played on them but all was in fun. Following the initiation the whole high school joined in a sock hop.
