Glass 4 if-iurg In nineteen hundred and fifty-nine, the Haigler High School received thirteen freshmen: George Sharp, Sheryl Haskell, Alfred Zuege, Elmer Day, Sandra Carlock, Royce Stute, Duane Wall, Beth Samler, Dick Bentley, Margaret Sass, Robert Snelling, Betty Potthoff, and Gene Williams. Miss Laura Johnson, Mr. Corwin Arndt, Mr. Charles Grow, and Mr. Murl Beller introduced us to high school life. Willingly the Seniors led us through the Freshman Initiation. We had no loss of class members in our Sophomore year, but we helped initiate three new teachers: Miss Kathy Hardman, Mr. Gerald Arnholt, and Mr. Larry Snell, Our class dwindled to ten in our Junior year with the loss of Margaret Sass, George Sharp, and Sandra Carlock. We gained a new teacher, Mr, E, Mumma. Just before Thanksgiving vacation, we re- ceived our class rings. ln mid December we gave our Junior Play entitled THE HERMIT OF THE HILLS, On May, 5, 1962, we honored the Seniors in the annual J unior-Senior Banquet and Prom with the theme TERPSICHOREAN SOIREE, We danced to the music of the Newton Eby Orchestra. Mr. O, H, Bourns, and Mr. Larry E, Pfeiffer, our new faculty members, joined us in our Senior year. Our class lost a former member, Beth Samler, but gained a new member, Olan Bourns. Our Senior Play was given in April, In May the Juniors honored us with their J unior-Senior Banquet and Prom. On May 12, our Baccalaureate Exercises were held in the Haigler Methodist Church and Commencement Exercises were held in the high school auditorium on May 16. MOTTO- We build the ladder by which we climb. FLOWER- Red Rose COLORS- Sky Blue and Silver Qllasa will I, DICK BENTLEY, will anything that I have to anybody that wants it. I, ALFRED ZUEGE, will my football playing ability to John MacArthur, and my quiet and shy ways to Mick Schorzman. I, SHERYL HASKELL, will my boney knees to Elaine Cox, and my ability to keep one steady boyfriend to LaVern Smith. I, OLAN BOURNS, will to Bill McVey my ability to work square root problems for future needs, of course, I, ROBERT SNELLING, will my ability to smile to Pat Daniels, and my ability to sleep in class to any- one who wants to take the risk. I, GENE WILLIAMS, will my ability to get my studies done on time to Merle Wheaton, and my ability to raise Registered Hereford Cattle to Bill Sharp. I, BETTY POTTHOFF, will my red hair to Marsha Smith, and my ability to lose boyfriends to .T eannie Wall. I, ELMER DAY, will my height to Bill Sharp, and my driving habits to Gail Harford. I, DUANE WALL, will my ability to get along with the t eacher s to John MacArthur, and all my girl trouble to Bill Sharp. I, ROYCE STUTE, will my football ability to Bill Sharp, and I hope he uses it better than I did, and to Mick Schorzman, my best friend, I will anything he wants that I have.
