TO THE CLASS OF 1970 How oft we gaze into the mystifying night with its realm of stars and find ourselves lost in a world of reminiscence, remembering our past with both its stunning highlights and meandering shadows. However we cannot forget how these were comforting as we gained a sense of satisfaction while profiting habitually by both. Then suddenly, as a star seems to fall or a cloud changes the face of the Moon, we are brought back to reality with the realization that our life today has been determined by the shades of yesterday, while tomorrow will be determined by the twilight of today. Thus with the knowledge that the light will not always be bright, yet knowing how a little light can thrust its beam far into piercing darkness, may you as the newer graduate on the eve of your Commencement go forth as graduates of Hahnemann demonstrating through your actions that the philosophy of your School has given you something that you in turn must give the World. Which ever field of Nursing you select as a career, you must justify what the School has given you by your own services and achievements, and, more deeply, by your own satisfaction in a fuller life. Now as my nursing career is coming to an end, as I look back there are no regrets for I have had great satisfaction in guiding young people toward maturity.
