■ ■ I M I ■ ' ■ — • , , ,. p $ THE NINETEEN-HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN CLASS OF THE SCHOOL OF NURSING OF THE HAHNEMANN MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA PRESENTS . . THE VIGIL Here by the grace of God go we. Through His love we have grown in knowledge, understanding, and ma- turity. Now the world lies before us. It is ours to decide whether we will become complacent and satisfied to take what it may of f jr or will give of ourselves — our understanding, love, energy and intelligence to make this a better world in which to live. We have not come to an end, but to a beginning of a greater endeavor to leam, to serve, and to grow in stature and vision. Our memories are many and our future can be bright. This yearbook recalls the memories of those ex- periences and people who have aided in shaping that future. !jUw ' ' y i mvfi ' mm mmxmmmmmmtmm i m i la m nm i n  i Page FACULTY 12 SENIORS 20 CLASSES 78 SOCIAL 86 ETHOS 94 CANDIDS 108 - • - • The sense of somebody ' s need is, I believe, the most powerful mo- tive in the world, one that appeals to the largest number of people of every age, race, and kind. It wakes up the whole nature, the powers that learn as well as those that perform; it generates the vigor of interest that submerges selfishness and cowardice; it rouses the inventiveness and in- genuity that slumber so soundly in student ' s classrooms. For many of us.. ..work that is service taps a great reservoir of power, sets free some of our caged, leased energy. Richard C. Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets were filled to abundance by the student nurses and given to needy families. There was a Christ- mas party for the children of Callowhill Child Shelter, and a mixer with The Gents providing the music, but perhaps the most memor- able was the Nursing Service vs. Student Nurses basketball game. Organized and supported by Nursing Service, it provided a fun-filled evening, funds for the yearbook, and a victory for the Student Nurses. YEARBOOK EDITORS D. Guenst and B.
