e .eee .ef 1948. as W so Senior Class History In the fall of '45, old H. H. S. opened her doors to welcome the class that was destined to become the largest and last of the great senior classes. We say great because looking at our accomplishments we fail to see how any one can do any better. Our class had its actresses, all stars, writers, all good, and our homegrown geniuses had a tremendous overall average I. Q. rating. Call it conceit if you wish. Most classes enter the school portals scared silly and we were no excep- tions, but we struggled throught the first year and before we actually realized what had occurred we were jolly juniors. Before we had done so we had made a lasting impression on the school with our productions of Backstage and Sparkin , along with the many awards and scholastic honors we pulled. In our Junior year we were even more well represented on the athletic fields student council stage and again we won our share of awards and scholas tic honors Finally the great year came Seniors adults We were pretty excited but soon settled down to discover that all was not what it was cooked up to be Senior work was hard and a lot of grades went down But as we slowly caught on they came up and so did our sp1r1ts The last part of our years was pretty troublesome pretty troubled We had our compla1nts our desires some things we should have some things we should not have Things will probably never be straightened out to the satis faction of all but everyone gets pleasure out of knowing that he was right regardless of the outcome As we stepped up to receive our diplomas a mixed feeling of emotlons passed through us some were glad it was over some wishing 1t would yust be starting some grateful some glad All in all we were deeply impressed at this our commencement into adult life We know not what the future holds for us war peace life death but come what may we are prepared if not through school through our parents if not through our parents through ourselves for what may come I - - I I L-v I I W 1

s- ,es as ss, I!l48e , Class Prophecy Qcontinuedl Arriving in the dusty city of Baltimore, I went immediately to Ford's theatre where a revival of Stage Door was being presented. I was elated to find my friends in those roles they had played in our senior class production of the same show. Iackie Williams, Bill Mason, Doris Butts, Anne Stouffer, Iane Sweigert, Iune Carr, and others were on stage or in the wings. Feeling in the mood for a refreshing drink I went to llDick's Diner , owned and operated by one, Richard Springer, who had a cute little barmaid, Ianet Dixon working for him The lights dimmed and the floor show began Vicki Hayzlett dancing to the singing of Nancy Pope and Io Martin Paying a visit to the hospitals of Baltimore I was astonished to find so many former carefree classmates such as Ioanne Devilbliss Frances Cave Pat Eikel berger Nancy Thomas Evelyn Robertson Peggy Feiser and Ieannine Cun ningharn in the roles of angels of mercy And lust as I was leaving I heard the call system Calling Dr Kritzer calling Dr Henry Kritzer would wonders never cease? The Maryland Art Institute was next on my itinerary and I found Iack Butler and Anne Zimmerman dashing paints on canvas Ill never know what they were painting Going on to Washington I was yust in time to pay a visit to Dolly Ridgely her husband Bob and their ever adorable cherubs Shopping in Philadelphia for a gown for the symphony was quite a problem until I saw Diane Munson more beautiful than ever modeling a luscious back less strapless affair which I had to have I - I I I I ' I I I I ' i . , . 1 - - V I I I I ' ' I I .
